b'Voter Registration / ElectionsMission StatementThe mission of the Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County is to ensure every eligible citizen has theopportunity to register to vote, participate in fair and impartial elections, and have the assurance that their vote will count.Goals and Objectives1.Transition election equipment and supplies to additional storage space that is being added to existing facility at 15 JohnGalt Rd. The added space would not only create additional storage space, but also create space for voting equipmentpreparation.2.A plan is needed to address the parking crisis during early voting at the main oce in Beaufort.3.Increase physical security measures inside and outside the Election Oces to enhance security during and after workinghours.4.Continue to conduct community forums on Voter Registration and Election processes and procedures. Voter educationis designed to inform and increase trust in the operation of the Department and disseminate factual information about itsoperation.5.Replace approximately 100 dilapidated Poll Clerk Supply Bags that are used to carry precinct supplies and other relatedaccessories to and from the precinct on Election Day.6.Add approximately 30 addition Poll Clerk Supply Bags in anticipation of new precincts to be eective in 2024.7. To purchase or acquire the additional ballot marking devices (BMDS), scanners, and Express pollbooks to be usedin anticipationof new precincts to be eective in 2024.8.Work with the Revenue and Fiscal Aairs Oce, the SC Legislative Council, and the Beaufort County LegislativeDelegation, to introduce new legislations for additional precincts in Beaufort County.9.Work with the County GIS Department to upload new precinct data received from the Revenue and Fiscal Aairs Oceand create new precinct maps and street listing les.10.Secure additional polling places to accommodate new precincts that will be created due to the 2020 Census data andthe increase in voter population.11.Proposinga$25PollWorkersupplementalpayforallElectionWorkers.Withtheincreaseinpollworkersresponsibilities and mental stress associated with conducting elections, this supplement will be a small incentive torecruit and maintain qualied poll workers. This supplement is to be paid in addition to the stipend paid by the StateElection Commission.
