b'IT - Mapping and ApplicationsMission StatementThe Mapping and Applications Department provides spatial and information technology solutions to state and local agencies, as well aspublic and private entities, in order to meet the needs of Beaufort County Government and the communities we serve. We strive to provideservices that are accurate, consistent, accessible and comprehensive.Goals and ObjectivesIncrease eciencies and mobility through spatial data access and GIS applications.Continue to educate departments on technologies that can solve their problems in new ways by employing custom applications thatintegrate systems, automate workows/paperwork, and use valuable data from multiple sources.Develop interfaces between software systems to improve electronic data transfer and replace manual data entry.Department DescriptionThe Department consists of nine (9) full-time employees. These employees provide education, support, and technology services toCounty Sta as well as other public and private entities. Through innovative methods, we strive to increase e?ciencies and businessprocesses for better decision-making and an enriched community.Performance MeasuresThe BC Connect Applications site had 600 requests in 2022, 345 new users, and we have had over 200 requests already in 2023averaging more than 65 per month.The new Solid Waste and Recycling Decal system has processed over 65,260 registrations to date with 6,863 new registrationsand 6,151 new decals issued in 2022.The Solid Waste and Recycling scanner application has processed over 1,101,708 scans at the Convenience Centers in 2022.The GIS website currently has 22,500+ page views per month. The Mapping team has added 72 new web maps, dashboards, andother applications. Currently we have a total of 141 active GIS web applications.We have nearly doubled our GIS Portal applications from 28 to 48.The Pictometry Connect site, which provides access to current and archived aerial photography for sta had 17,200+ Views in2022.Budget HighlightsThis past year we have provided technical support to sta users to help them with any issues they may encounter while using dierentapplications. We saw an increase in our helpdesk tickets and we provided timely support to ensure that sta users could continue to workwithout interruptions.Our team took time to train and educate sta users to help them become more procient in using various applications this past year. Thisprovided less frustration and increased productivity among the County departments.The Mapping and Applications team ensured that software applications were up to date with the latest versions, patches, and securityupdates.
