b'Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department (BCADAD)Mission StatementTo reduce the negative impact of alcohol and drugs in Beaufort County by providing its citizens with person-centeredprevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery services.Goals and ObjectivesProvide Prevention services throughout Beaufort County to the public and private sector through curbside events, healthfairs, workshops, social media, or other live demonstrations.Provide screening, assessment, and treatment services to Beaufort County Citizens via virtual assistance or face-to-face assistance.Increase the service completion percentage through retention and motivating activities for adolescent, adult ADSAP,and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services.Department DescriptionEstablished in 1974, the Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Department (BCADAD) is a department under the CountyCouncil of Beaufort County, South Carolina. The BCADAD is a department established under South Carolina law (Act 301 of1973) to help individuals and families troubled by alcohol, tobacco, or other drug-related problems. The Department liaiseswith the Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Board, which is comprised of seven (7) members who are appointed byBeaufort County Council.The department has twenty-seven (27) total members when fully staed, six (6) of which are grant funded. Twenty-two (22) ofouremployeesprovideeitherprevention,intervention,treatment,recovery,orMATservices.Theotherve(5)providesupport functions or serve in administrative roles.Performance Measures (Outputs)At least fty (50) face-to-face activities are to be done annually by Prevention sta, and at least twelve (12) social mediacampaigns executed to improve the health and well-being of Beaufort County CitizensIncrease the number of citizens served to pre-pandemic numbers (1000), via screening, assessment, treatment, andrecovery services.Increase the number of adolescents and adults completing outpatient and intensive outpatient services to 55% (5%above industry standards) through retention activities.Increase the number of citizens completing ADSAP to 85% via retention activities.Serve a minimum of 40 patients in the detention center.Engage 15 patients from the local emergency room into treatment services.Budget Highlights and Special NotesThe budget expenditures in some areas have increased due to some grants ending that were paying for professional servicesand capacity building. The department is also requesting one counselor FTE that once was in place in the Bluton servicelocation.
