As a Department, we are dedicated to continually providing eective and courteous service to our citizens while ensuringa safe and collaborative work environment for all employees.Goals and ObjectivesContinued compliance with the EPAs Clean Water Act to have all waterways classied as shable, swimmable, and drinkable.Clear direction on maintenance of drainage easements to include ownership, frequency, and cost.Continue moving forward with Stormwater Capital projects.Responsibly serve in a key role on the Countys Sta Review Team, and providing feedback to design community to ensure waterquantity and water quality requirements are met.Continue educational opportunities for the public as it relates to Stormwater.Regularly engage the Stormwater Utility Board, to include presentations and informational packets.Continue to support participating municipalities in managing the Stormwater Fees in their jurisdictions.Proactively work to close out legacy storm projects and other assigned county projects.Department DescriptionTheBeaufortCountyStormwaterDepartmentiscomprisedofthreeoperationsgroups:StormwaterManagement,whichincludesmanaging the Stormwater Utility; Stormwater Regulatory, which ensures compliance with all requirements of the Municipal SeparateStorm Sewer Systems (MS4) permit; and Stormwater Infrastructure, which ensures all County owned drainage is both maintained androuted eciently and safely to protect life and property. Through funds assessed by the Stormwater Utility, our program continues toensurewaterqualitystandardsarebeingmetthroughexaminingmonitoringresultsfromsamplingeortsanddesigningCapitalImprovement Projects based on the data provided.
