November 4, 2025 Municpal General Elections:
Town of Bluffton
Filing Opens: noon, Friday, August 8
Filing Closes: noon, Friday, September 5, 2025
Filing Location: Town of Bluffton, 20 Bridge Street, Bluffton, SC 29910
Late filings cannot be accepted
The Town of Bluffton Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Voters may cast their ballot for two Town Council seats. Those seats are currently held by Councilmember Fred Hamilton and Councilmember Emily Burden. All mayor and town council seats are at-large and non-partisan.
Candidates wishing to file for the offices of Town Council and appear on the ballot for the November 4, Town of Bluffton Municipal Election must do the following.
- Must be a South Carolina registered voter who resides within the Town of Bluffton.
- Go online to the SC Election Commission Website to obtain and complete a Statement of Intention of Candidacy – Non-Partisan Form. Form can be accessed at the SCvotes.gov website.
- Recommended filing procedure: Make an appointment with Town Clerk Marcia Hunter. Please complete & bring the required Statement of Intent of Candidacy – Nonpartisan form, government issued identification card, voter registration card and filing payment to appointment. Marcia Hunter can be reached via (email) mhunter@townofbluffton.com or (Office) 843.706.4505.
- Pay the required filing fee ($100 for Town Council) in-person at 20 Bridge Street with Town Clerk Marcia Hunter.
- Candidates are also reminded they are required to complete forms required by the South Carolina Ethics Commission online at https://ethics.sc.gov/campaigns. Town Clerk Marcia Hunter will provide a packet of information for each candidate after he or she files. This packet will include further instructions about all requirements and how to set up an account with the SC Ethics Commission.
Town of Port Royal

The Town of Yemassee Municipal General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Voters may cast their ballot for Mayor and two Town Council seats. The Mayor and Town council seats are at-large and non-partisan.
Candidates wishing to file for the offices of Mayor or Town Council and appear on the ballot for the November 4, Town of Yemassee Municipal Election must do the following.
- Must be a South Carolina registered voter who resides within the Town of Yemassee.
- Go online to the SC Election Commission Website to obtain and complete a Statement of Intention of Candidacy – Non-Partisan Form. Form can be accessed at the SCvotes.gov website.

New Poll Worker Training

The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Beaufort County will be holding training classes for anyone interested in becoming a new poll worker!
All of the classes will be held at our main office, located at 15 John Galt Road, Beaufort, SC 29906. The classes will be from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.
