? of the Week - Social Hosting…What is it and who can be held responsible?

Social hosting is the term used to describe any situation where an adult allows underage teens to drink alcohol. In South Carolina, if a social host intentionally serves or allows a person under 21 years old to be served alcohol, the host may be liable to the minor and to any third person who is harmed due to the minor’s intoxication. Social hosting can cost you more than just a criminal record - it can cost you everything.
