Beaufort County daytime road resurfacing continues, weather and schedule permitting. Beginning Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, road work will be done from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily in Beaufort's Historic District.

The schedule is as follows:

• Elliot Street
• Congress Street (may also include sidewalk repairs)
• Lafayette Street
• Craven Street--canceled due to the City of Beaufort's road construction project

These resurfacing operations are funded by the Beaufort County Transportation Committee.

During construction, lane closures, road cones and signage will be visible to direct traffic safely. Motorists and residents should be prepared for lane closures and are encouraged to use extra caution when approaching work zones.
