Beaufort County Year In Review 2025 Achievements and Accomplishments

2025 was a busy year for Beaufort County officials and staff. It was filled with achievements, accolades, staff and legislator trainings, public events, and more. BCTV has created a year in review video highlighting some of the many events and people who help make Beaufort County a great place to live, work, and play.

Some of the video highlights include:

  • County Chair Alice Howard and Vice Chair Anna Marie Tabernik named County Chair and Vice Chair respectively. This is the first time in Beaufort County history two women have held these Council positions
  • Nicole Wood named Deputy County Administrator
  • In recognition of Earth Day more than 580 volunteers including 200 County staff collected over 9000 pounds of litter from County roadways and waterways
  • County Public Works Department was recognized by SC Governor Henry McMaster and Lt. Governor Pamela Evette
  • County Chair Alice Howard was named 2025 Environmental Legislative Official of the Year
  • Beaufort County Animal Services partnered with Jasper County to help ease overcrowding and offer shared resources including medical care and shelter
  • Beaufort County received multiple financial awards and certificates of achievement
  • Renovation projects that have been completed or are in progress
  • Numerous land acquisitions
