Recently, Beaufort County announced it is now offering food waste drop-off for residents at several County Convenience Centers through a composting pilot program. This is an exciting milestone in efforts to reduce waste, divert organic material from the landfill, and create valuable compost for our community. This is an important step toward a more sustainable future.

Several webinars are being offered to educate people about the new food waste program: the benefits, what items can and cannot be accepted and lots of other useful information.
