United Airlines is expanding its service at Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH) with additional direct flights to/from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD), opening new travel opportunities for Lowcountry residents and visitors alike.

With this enhanced schedule, Hilton Head Island will offer daily Chicago service from April 3 through August 15, 2026. In addition, Saturday nonstop flights will operate from March 7 to October 10, 2026. This expanded Chicago service will also provide convenient connections to and from dozens of cities throughout the Midwest.

“United Airlines’ continued investment in Hilton Head Island strengthens our connection to the world,” said Jon Rembold, Airports Director. “This expanded service to Chicago gives our residents and visitors even more flexibility and convenience and it comes at an exciting time as we prepare to open our new terminal expansion in mid-April 2026.”

United’s network expansion from Chicago includes new nonstop destinations across the U.S., as well as increased daily departures to several key markets including Hilton Head Island. The enhanced schedule reflects United’s commitment to meeting growing travel demand and connecting smaller airports, like HHH, with major global hubs.

Hilton Head Island Airport’s terminal expansion, now under construction, will feature upgraded passenger amenities, additional gate space, and a more streamlined travel experience. When complete in 2026, the improved terminal will enhance both comfort and capacity for travelers flying United and other carriers serving the region.
