Beaufort County is inviting citizens and businesses to provide input on the updated proposed waterway ordinance changes. At the September 15 Public Facilities Committee meeting, the proposed ordinance amendments to waterways were deferred until the October 20 meeting so the public and local businesses could have input. 

As a result of public comment at the October 20 Public Facilities meeting, the proposed ordinance language has been updated to reflect community comments. The public is again invited to go online and review the ordinance changes that better represent community concerns and leave further comment and feedback.

The proposed amendments will impact County-owned or maintained docks and landings, piers and parking lots.

The deadline for public comment is Sunday, November 16.
