Beaufort County Actively Monitoring Tropical Activity

StormPrep

Friday, September 26, 2025 5:36 PM

Beaufort County is actively monitoring tropical activity that is expected to develop into a tropical system in the coming days. It remains too early to know this storm's exact impact in South Carolina; however, we want to encourage our community to prepare now for potential impacts.

Beaufort County is coordinating with all of our emergency management partners. Beaufort County Public Works and Facilities teams have been reviewing readiness plans and are preparing for potential operational impacts. Additional updates will be provided as soon as they are available. Now is a great time to:

  • Check your emergency kit — flashlights, batteries, water, nonperishables, first aid, medications, etc.
  • Review your evacuation zone and have a plan for where you’d go (if ordered to evacuate).
  • Protect your property — bring in outdoor items, secure loose objects, trim branches, clear gutters.

Please continue to follow official public sources for information.
