The Beaufort County Public Works Environmental Education Coordinator is hosting a workshop open to all County residents on the benefits of having a sustainable backyard. The workshop will be 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, August 9. It will be held at the Beaufort County Public Works Recycling Complex, 106 Shanklin Road (map).

Special guest Laura Lee Rose from South Carolina Native Plant Society will share tips about how to compost soil, the importance of rain barrels, native plants and how to design a rain garden.
