Michael McShane Elected as Chairman of Newly Established Beaufort County Green Space Advisory Committee

Beaufort County is proud to announce the election of Michael McShane as Chairman of the newly established Green Space Advisory Committee. This committee was formed after the adoption of the Green Space Penny, a tax designed to fund conservation and protection of natural resources. Beaufort County is the first in the state to adopt such a tax and establish an advisory board in accordance with state requirements.

Michael McShane is a longtime resident of Beaufort County and has been a dedicated advocate for green space preservation throughout his career. He has served on various environmental organizations and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position of Chairman.

The adoption of the Green Space Penny is a significant step forward for Beaufort County in preserving its natural beauty and resources. This tax will provide a dedicated source of funding for the conservation and protection of green spaces in the county. The newly established Green Space Advisory Committee will work with county officials and community stakeholders to develop strategies and policies to promote the conservation of the county's natural resources.
