Beaufort County Public Works is actively prepared to assist Hurricane Ian disaster response operations.

An estimated 130+ essential Public Works personnel are ready to provide aid across the County. Staff may remain on call or in place prior, during and after the storm if weather conditions worsen.

Approximately 75 pickup trucks, 5 dump trucks, and various other heavy equipment are ready to support the County. Equipment is staged at Public Works North (120 Shanklin Road, Beaufort) and Public Works South (9 Benton Field Road, Bluffton) to ensure timely assistance across the County.

Fuel storage at Public Works is approximately 80% full, including both unleaded and diesel, as well as full fuel pods on trucks to ensure personnel can provide needed transportation and support without interruption.
