Beaufort County's Solid Waste and Recycling recently received $10,000 in grant funds from the South Carolina Energy Office to purchase an electric utility task vehicle (UTV). The clean energy vehicle will be part of the County's Litter Control fleet and over the lifetime of the 10-year project, will result in saving Beaufort County a significant amount in fuel charges.

An eye-catching and informative wrap with the message “Be part of the solution, not the pollution; DON’T LITTER,” will provide a powerful reminder for residents and visitors.

The wrap also highlights the important partnership with the SC Energy Office and the use of clean energy. Lesson plans, education and outreach efforts will include information regarding the use of electric vehicles and the positive impacts they have on the community and environment.
