Wednesday, February 24, 2021 2:05 PM

The Beaufort County Library Bluffton Branch is beginning renovations that are estimated to last several months. Beginning Monday, March 1, there will be some changes that citizens need to be aware of. The impact to library patrons will be kept to a minimum when possible. The public is asked to be patient while the renovations to upgrade the Bluffton Branch Library occur.

The library will remain open with the same hours, however the main portion of the library will be closed. The library's entryway and Large Meeting Room will serve as a "miniature pop-up" library for the coming months as the renovation project begins.

From the Beaufort County Library System:

  • Operating hours will remain the same (Mondays-Thursdays 10 a.m-6 p.m. and Fridays & Saturdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
  • Library staff will be available to assist in-person, by phone (843-255-6497), or through the Contact Us form.
  • A selection of books will be available for browsing and checkout.
  • Holds pick up and checkout stations will be available.
  • Public computers, fax/scanner, and copy machine will be available.
  • The lobby restrooms will be open.
  • Exterior book drop will remain open.
  • Some used book sale items will be available for purchase.
  • VITA and AARP will continue spring tax assistance. Please visit our Tax Help page for the most current procedure.
  • We regret that the Bluffton library is unable to accept book donations at this time.

During some phases of construction, it may be necessary to close the branch for a short period of time or offer curbside service only.

Updates and the latest information will be posted on the library system's Bluffton Renovation page and Facebook page.
