National Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month

Monday, December 28, 2020 12:15 PM

Did you know December is National Drunk and Drugged Prevention Month? December is particularly hazardous with more impaired drivers on the road. According to the National Safety Council, over 40,000 people lost their lives in alcohol-related traffic accidents in 2019 during the holiday season. Don’t be a statistic.

To prevent a holiday tragedy from impaired driving, make plans for a ride home in advance by either having a designated driver, plans for a member of your family or a friend on stand-by for a ride home, or hail an Uber or taxi.

If not impaired and driving, drive defensively! Other impaired drivers can still make you a statistic. To prevent others from harm, report any unsafe driving to law enforcement. It may save another life!
