Clarification: Beaufort County Probate Court Closed to In-Person Access with Some Exceptions

Beaufort County Probate Court Judge Kenneth Fulp has announced that in an effort to prevent exposure of the public and court staff to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), effective today, Tuesday, March 17, the Beaufort County Probate Court is currently closed to in-person access, except for the filing of documents (including marriage license applications), making required payments, and emergency hearings not held by video or telephone conference. This policy will remain in place until further notice.
 
Court filings may be submitted by U.S. postal mail. Court forms and fee information can be found online here.
 
Requests for court records may be requested by telephone at 843-255-5850 or by emailing kimberlyr@bcgov.net; please include your telephone number.
 
Hearings, including emergency hearings, may be held by video-conference or telephone conference, with the consent of all parties and arranged on a case-by-case basis.
