General and Sub-Contractor Services Under $50,000


In order to do business with Beaufort County, vendors must register with Purchasing through our Vendor Registration system, powered by Vendor Registry. The County may reject any quotes, bids, proposals and qualifications submitted by businesses that are not registered. Registering also allows businesses to identify the type of goods and services they provide so that they may receive email notifications regarding relevant solicitations out for bid.

Vendors previously registered as a Local Vendor with Beaufort County before April 2017 will need to register through this new system.

The County's intent is to create a master pre-qualification Vendor list for all services less than $50,000 listed below. 

 PROVIDING FIRE ALARM INSTALLATION, REPAIR and INSPECTION SERVICES, FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSPECTION and REPAIR SERVICES, FIRE SPRINKLER REPAIR, INSTALLATION and INSPECTION SERVICES, ROOFING INSTALLATION and REPAIR SERVICES, ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES,, PORT-A-LET SERVICE, PARKING LOT SEALING AND STRIPING SERVICES, TREE and STUMP REMOVAL SERVICE, LANDSCAPE SERVICES, REMEDIATION and CLEANING SERVICES, CARPET AND FLOORING SERVICES, PESTICIDE APPLICATION SERVICES, CONCRETE REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR SERVICES, HVAC, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, CARPENTRY SERVICES and GENERAL CONTRACTOR SERVICES FOR PROJECTS UNDER $50,000 TO SUPPORT THE BEAUFORT COUNTY'S FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

Once a Vendor is approved by the County they will be notified and added to the County's On-line Vendor pre-qualification list.

 

Businesses located outside of Beaufort County will be considered if maintaining a business license with Beaufort County or any of its municipalities.

Inclusion on this list does not imply approval or endorsement of the business or its products or services by Beaufort County, nor does it constitute a statement by Beaufort County as to the quality of work that might be performed by any vendor contained on this list. It is the responsibility of the business and its customers to comply with all legal requirements concerning any actual or planned purchase or use of any products or services. It is the policy of the County Council of Beaufort County, South Carolina to comply with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and its related statutes. To this end, Beaufort County assures that no person shall be excluded from participation in, denied the benefit of, or subjected to discrimination under any of its programs or activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, disability, religion, or language.

A competitive procurement shall be made by the County from responsive and responsible local (resident) vendors in Beaufort County for procurement, if such bid does not exceed the lowest qualified bid from a non-local vendor by more than five percent (5%) or $10,000, whichever is less of the lowest non-local bidder.  The local vendor has the discretion to match the bid submitted by the non-local vendor and receive the contract award.  A vendor shall be deemed to be a "local vendor", if such vendor is an individual, partnership, association, or corporation that is authorized to transact business within the state of South Carolina, maintains an office in Beaufort County, and maintains a representative inventory of commodities within Beaufort County and has paid all taxes duly assessed.

When purchasing  from state or GSA contacts, the County is allowed to purchase like items from a Beaufort County local vendor as long as the local vendor is willing to meet or beat the state or GSA contract pricing.  In cases where two or more local vendors are involved, the Purchasing Director will determine the best method to use for a tie breaker, either a coin toss or lottery drawing.  When practical, a quotation will be solicited from other than the previous supplier prior to placing a repeat order.
