Motorists Urged to Use Caution

 In celebration of Earth Day, again this year Beaufort County employees will be out along several roadways cleaning up litter.

Volunteers will be stationed:

• along Highway 170, beginning at Widgeon Point Preserve, 43 Okatie Highway and ending near the Oldfield community, 10 Oldfield Way
  
  
• South of the Broad: Coverage will include areas of Fording Island Road and Bluffton, from Malphrus Road moving westbound toward Burnt Church Road
  
  
• North of the Broad: Coverage will include Trask Parkway and Sea Island Parkway throughout the event

Other municipalities and departments within Beaufort County will also be completing cleanups near their respective office locations.

BCTV will be streaming the ceremony after the clean up is completed. BCTV can be found on cable channels Sparklight (formerly Hargray) - channel 9 and 417; Comcast - channel 2; Spectrum - channel 1304. BCTV also streams live on www.BeaufortCounty.tv and through the FREE BCTV APP available on ROKU, Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the areas as Earth Day Clean Up volunteers will be very close to road with no sidewalk access. Volunteers will be visible with safety vests and will take every precaution to avoid traffic.
