Nexus Care's All Aboard Beaufort Coalition - STAR (Striving to Achieve Resiliency) Youth Leadership Group visited 17 local restaurants recently to distribute drug-free–inspired activity mats and crayons. The goal of All Aboard Beaufort’s STAR youth leaders is to reduce alcohol and marijuana use among youth in Northern Beaufort County by promoting positive, healthy choices through youth-led prevention efforts.
The activity mats were designed and inspired by our STAR youth leaders, reflecting their creativity, leadership, and commitment to making a positive impact in our community.
Nexus Care of Beaufort County's STAR (Striving to Achieve Resiliency) Youth Leadership Program encourages middle school and high school students north of the Broad to develop peer-to-peer conversations about substance abuse in the hopes of reducing their misuse.

The All Aboard Beaufort coalition is funded through the Centers for Disease Control by a Drug-Free Communities award to address primary prevention efforts in northern Beaufort County communities.
In partnership with All Aboard Beaufort, the next youth meeting will be Thursday, February 19, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at the St. Helena Branch Library, 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Road (map).
